Rostec handed over the SSJ- NEW first prototype to flight-test station
The first SSJ-NEW prototype, assembled at the Irkut Corporation Production Center (part of PJSC UAC of Rostec State Corporation) in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, was transferred to the flight test station.
The specialists have already proceeded to a complex of the new liner systems ground tests, at the moment the first refueling of the aircraft has taken place. After the first flight the aircraft will be presented to specialists of Federal Air Transport Agency for certification tests, following which the import-substituted systems will be approved for use on board the SSJ-NEW. This will give a start to serial production and commercial operation of the aircraft.
"Ground testing is an important part in preparation for the SSJ-NEW first flight. Within a few weeks, we will test the operation of all new aircraft systems on ground to ensure their correct operation in air. Safety is one of the key priorities in development of a new civil aircraft modification,” said Andrey Boginsky, Deputy General Director of PJSC UAC for Civil Aviation, General Director of the Irkut Corporation
The SSJ-NEW is a regional jet manufactured under the import substitution program. It will be another model in the SuperJet family operated currently by airlines.
